  5. I was the reenlistment NCO at Battalion Hqs for 3/71. It was a Nike Bn then. Great assignment. I loved visiting all the different Batteries, reenlisting folks. Battalion Commander at that time was Ltc Schulz. Csm Pete Moracon was the Bn CSM. Best CSm I ever knew, an Airborne buddy from Bragg. Does anyone remember the Esso gas station just outside the kassern. I was there from 1973 to 1977. Lived in Pattonville with my wife Bonnie. She’s still with me. We’re 71 years old now.. She worked at the PX at R.B. at ToyLand. While she was doing that, I was Hang Gliding with a group of German friends from Kornwestheim. Best assignment I had. Managed to do 25 years before I retired in 1985 at the Presidio of San Francisco (my hometown)

Both Wilkens and Gerzewski barracks are long gone but I have fond memories of both places.Feel free to contact me as I recall a lot of the guys names.
