41 trans 1st plt i was on the ground floor. old wood shop room women section( i was a man) across from a lady named aduet from mass. i think. dec 81. later mover upstairs with houtman, scuter, and williams.
T.B. Yonce was the First Sergeant in 1974. I met up with him in 82 I think. He was a big rig driver at the time and while he was on a cross country trip we met up. Same deal with Neil Simmons who was also in the 590th. I was in the 590th Trans from March 73 to October 75. I was Capt. Montgomery’s Driver the last six months I was there.
Do you know what/where Capt Montgomery ended up.
He/I from the same hometown–I remember his wife was from the Bay Area.
He was a great guy.
First Sgt Younce was a super 1st Sgt.
Who was he driving for ????
Thanks!!!

I was there in 88-92. Met my best friend. Sgt Ben Radford. We are still very best friends today and we ride Honda Goldwings all over the country. How about Butler, Camouche, Sfc Howard, SSg Bell, and how about Rollout and Dwyer and Rob, Phillips etc. I still talk to Fields and Privott today all are retired my Homeboys Carolina baby. At 56 they called Privott back into Army to deploy as Supply. He had health issues once he got back in and he never deployed. LOL too old LOL
i was there 81 83, remember me, scutter, and houtman had the fire dept called on , we went by the name 41 arson asso. (jim bowie). gary fouse stayed down here in florida after he got out.
We were the last of the 41st. They cased the colors for the last time in ’93. Sure was a sad day. Ended up finishing my tour with the 377 HET. Great times

I was with 590th trans Co 181st Trans Bn.from 1978-1981 i got there right after Basic and AIT from Ft Dix N.J. I all so met my wife over here I married a Ludwigshafener
We got married in the little chapel on Turley . I have been married now for 30 + Years.
If I could turn the clock back I would do it all over again.
I started my career out in 51st Trans. I was one of the “Package Platoon Pvt’s” (remember us?) that came straight from Fort Dix, NJ AIT in May of 1986. I spent 6 years there “that time” and had the time of my life in Mannheim. I married a Mannheim woman while I was there and we are still married after 20+ years. I returned to Turley Barracks assigned to 515th Trans from 2001 to 2004. Then in 2006 I retired from Fort Hood and called it a career after a little over 20 years. Mannheim, Turley Barracks and all the great soldiers I was stationed with will always be planted deeply in my heart and mind for the rest of my life. If you know me, look me up on Facebook or shoot me an email, it’ll be good to hear from you again. Take care my friends!
