i was stationed at the 570th from 1973 to 1974. I would love to hear from anyone who was there at that time. My 1st sgt was roy ekstrand. Hope to hear from someone soon. A lot of good memories.
I was stationed there from 1972- 1975, worked in the commisary. I was attached to the 570th but my actual unit was from Giessen. Had some good times there,
go down the road to the Dutch Kaserne and get ripped. I made a lot of good friends there and have a lot of great memories. I remember first seargent Ekstrand well, he used to always be on us about shaving off our mustaches. I have quite a few pics from there, the annual toilet bowl game between the 570th and 583rd. Hope to hear back from you, would like to exchange some stories.
John,
Still trying to put a face with your name. Where did you work at? I lived off post most of the time that I was there but I knew most of the guys that lived in the barricks pretty well. Thoma, reeber and kessler all worked in S4 and then there was Spike and daniels who worked in the mess hall. How about the so-called theater, seated maybe 15 or 20 people max. Got some pretty good pics if you care to see them.
Hi guys
I was British Army and done many a perimetre guard at the site in 1968…..no fond memories of that place. jeez it could get cold there at night.
Yes, there are several bunkers. Near the gymnasium and around such roads are tanks and several bunkers. Under such hills was also bunkers. End of the 80s they will be flated and the area was made into a ecological area
