My husband Robert Christiansen was stationed in Fulda from 1984-1987 He moved around a little bit, but started his time on the airfield in the motor pool. I remember a Keith Westover, and Robert Retzloff I would like to get back in touch with these people if anyone has any information.
Rick, I remember those walks to the airfield. Was at HHTandworked at the airfield operations from 84-86. Mark Mahon was there when I first arrived. There were some cold walks to the airfield I can remember.
I arrived in Fulda with Mark, he went to Airfield Ops, I went to Air Troop. He lived off post, while I lived in the newly constructed barracks. I later transferred to HHT, and was in S-3. I was there from 82-84.
I was at sickles from 1980-1983, 1st Flight Plt, with SFC Conrad as my Plt Sgt. FYI Cavland.com is dedicated to all 11th ACR , I found some friends there also.

I was in Tango Troop, Armament Platoon from 88-91. I remember that psycho 1SG we had; left Vietnam, got stationed in Fulda, went native and never left. I’m getting a kick from some of the info kicked around here… The Green Goose, The Irish Pub (I lived at that place when Paul and Barry owned it).
Who wants to run to the church on top of the hill?
Hell yeah! I practically lived in the ‘Goose from November 87 to Decmber 89. Anybody remember Christina, Jutta, Tanya, Ute, the Irish waitress, can’t recall her name now. Hmmm, it wasn’t Breda was it? No, I think that was her friend who tended bar over at the Irish pub.
The Goose! The Pub! I practically lived at the Irish Pub in 88 and 89. I was in Tango Troop, Armament Platoon from 88-91. The stories I have told about Paul, Barry, and all of us there… used to take road trips with Paul. That guy was absolutely nuts.

I never forgot him and i think of him alot. Since allready 5years ,i tyr to find him but without success. Maybe somebody here, knows him and can give me a little information!!!
Hey Nicole,
I remember Tony Overstreet. I was in Fulda at the same time in 1992. Unfortunately, I have no idea where he is now.
Good luck with your search.
Rob.
1980-1884 worked as a Flt.Dispatcher. Met my husband Tim a helicopter pilot. We are still together now for 28 years. We are now living south of Atlanta.
I was stationed at Fulda from 1979 – 1981. 11th ACR HHT Aug Det. I worked in Airfield Flight operations on the airfield – I reported to SFC Russ Reingheisen.
Went back in 1998 and the Caserne now looks like a business incubator – my old barracks is a dental office. The flight line seems to have become part of a trucking company. The long country road walk to the airfield is now (as of 1998) more like a stroll through suburbs all the way there.
Oh, the memories…I used to jump the HaimbacherStrasse side gate at 5:30 AM and hike dirt footpath down the steep hill past what we called the gypsy camp, cross a bridge over a small creek and through a field then turn left on an old country road, and turn right and walk up to the airfield. I seem to remember apple orchards along the way.
I remember those cold walks from the barracks to the airfield 77-79 and back for lunch. Never forget the gypsy caravans and the smells of apples and how spooky it all seemed to a 19 year old. Miss it sometimes but maybe a trip back to the area someday. Thanks. Bruce.
Yes, Alt Fulda! Many, many occasions at Alt Fulda, including my first night at the Fulda BRO (Border Resident Office) at Am Berg 65. Lots of weingespritzs served by Helga and the rest of the Bar staff. Great place! I was stationed there with the 205th MI BN from 1978 to 1981.
