  1. Was there summer of 1950, with the 22nd Ord co the first unit there after the DPs moved out. We first lived in “Tent City” until the original barracks were fit to
live in but we still hosed them out top to bottom as they were filthy.which buckled
all the Parquet floors. This was the start of the Viseck training center.
Unit was later assigned to support of the 2nd Armored Cav, Regt in Augsburg.

  2. Was there late 88 through 91, was the D Co commo chief, then ran the HHC side. Crewed with 1Lt Arayni, Sgt Brown, and Phelps when they stuck the barrels in the dirt in Hoenfels. Drove LTC Rossi through reforger, worked with Cpt Rhodes, Maj Durbin, and Colnel Zanini, what a unit we were. 1/37 Armor is truely the best of the best.

    • Curious, was 7th Army Ordnance and the Tank Shop across from the BOQ still there, I was there from July 63 – Jan 66, worked at the Tank Shop. It was a great place to be stationed in the 60′s.We had 3 main bars in town that I went to. the Casino, Guride Bar small place on the square and the Swan which I saw on a visit to Vilseck last year while in Munich for the Oktoberfest is now some type of place of Worship.

  6. SSG Passow, (or at least that was your rank in 92-94-I think) I was in Delta company 92-94. I was in 1st platton. Morton was the Platoon SGT. Boudin was 1SGT. And I think Woods was the CO. I changed over to Bravo and deployed to Macedonia with them; then they sent Delta over a couple months later. I truely miss that beautiful country. Hope to make a visit back there in 2013. Is the base secure as far as the front gate. Just wondering would love to visit and see what changes have been made. So, your still there; working on 2nd retirement. I’ve heard they have put a lot of money into Rose Barricks. Nice to see you doing well.

    • I am still here working as a hazmat instructor.I do remember you well. I will be here so when you arrive I will sign you in and we can take a tour. Roberts is here, Alan Prigden is here too. Please use my e-mail; jpassow@yahoo.com If you need anything just ask. Wait until you see Graf?? When they where digging up for the new PX they found and old 8 inch gun from the war.
