    • Hi Dave,
I was stationed at Rose from 1966 to 1967. I was in the signal corp as a radio relay carrier attendant. Worked mostly in the motor pool in a signal hut when we weren’t out on maneuvers in the woods somewhere. I was with Ken LeFort, Bill Jackson and lots of other good guys. I seem to recall that my CO was Capt. Penn. It’s been awhile and I haven’t thought about BK until the other day on one of those memory lane trips. That’s been a long time ago. Some good memories and some not so hot but a damn sight better than Vietnam. One of the few lucky times in my life.

    • I agree with you that BK was alot better than Vietnam! That is where I went when I left BK’ Do you remember Doug Young ? He was in signal corp same time as you. He was from Huntington Beach, Ca.

  5. I served as Company Armorer in B Company 8th Avn. Bn. in Bad Kreuznach at Rose Kaserne from December 1963 through November 1965. I replaced SP4 Lionel Joshua as armorer.
I remember some of the pilots: Capt. Kris Kristofferson, WO, Randall, WO. “Hoot” Gibson, WO. Paquin, Capt. Patterson, Capt. Fearing, LT. Edward Brown, LT. Detiveaux, LT. Mastrean, MAJ. Shaugnessy, MAJ. Gurney C. Clancy (Company Commander), and Ist Sgt, Douglas Felton.
It was a good outfit to serve with!

    • I was there after your time, however were you ever stationed at Ft Hunter Liggett later on? Just remember a Norman that was married to a German girl named Ingrid and we used to live nearby. Never mind if this is not you. Thanks, JD

    • Norm,
I got to Rose Barracks in January 1965 as a crew member on a UH-B (Huey) from Ft Rucker Alabama. I recall flying with Capt Kriss, Mr. Randall, Mr. Paquin, Capt. Patterson and Maj Shaugnessy. It was great duty. I departed B.K. in June 1965 fearing I would be extended for Viet Nam. I spoke to Kristofferson after one of his concerts in Wallingford CT.about 8 years ago.
      I was a US
