I was stationed in Friedberg from January 1994 thru July 1997. 2/67 AR / 2/37 AR. The IRON DUKES!!!! Much of my stay there is a blur. Best duty station ever though. I spent so many evenings CRAWLING back from the Studio, E-Z Money or the Kellar! It is extremely sad to see it has shut down! I had many days where I was praying I could get my ’81 Opel Kadett to the front gate and hang a right before I ran out of gas. Because as anyone remembers, at the bottom of the hill was The ESSO station! And as much as I hated running to THE TREE, it is hard to not see it anymore by walking from anywhere on post. Good times indeed. Hopefully there are more DUKES out there from my era!!!

hi jason, there are no more americans at ray brrack, also in hanau. i have question, do you remember a steven (or stephen) brooks. he is black. he was been at ray barracks in 1991.gretings from germany
First duty station in 1996. Deployed as a Bandit to Bosnia, completed 2 rotations with 4/67AR and 1/36IN. Loved going downtown to the EZ Money and then stumble out to get a kebab. Hated living in the Bandit barracks. Always envied the Dukes because they didnt have gang latrines like we did. Remember spending so much money to get calling cards to wait on one of two telephones to call back home. Oh, the days before internet. What did we do? BANDITS!!!
Arrived 1961 with the 144th Ord Co. Unit moved from Ft Knox to Friedberg during the Brtlin Build up..Unit moved all over the post as the quarters situation was pretty lousy.
One platoon was stationed in wildflicken
