  1. Iwas stationed there in July of 1968 with the 533rd MP Company, then I was transfered to Zweibrucken with the 533rd Det. best place I could have been sent to still remember k-town. I remember the strasse queens ..We had a lot of trouble with GIs.

  2. Was stationed at ROB in Vogelweh 70-72; back in 75-81 as DAC at Pulaski, then Panzer. Go to http://www.usarmygermany.com – Walter Elkins has a great site with photos of kasernes, etc. Mike.

    • I was at ROB at about the same time. I was a 1LT with the 8th Maintenance Bn. I lived in Hoenecken. I have had a lot of forgetfulness since then. Have you heard of the 8th Mnt and can you tell me anything about the reporting units to that? I left ROB and found my way to two Nam tours and quickly burned all my stuff when I was medically retired. Now, in regret,I am trying to duplicate patches. Any help would be appreciated.

  3. I was at Pulaski 74 to 75 with 69th Trans. Spent alot of time at High Life in K Town and standing along the autobahn in Vogelweh hitchhiking to Frankfurt on the weekends. I remember the strasse queens standing along road that went to Landstuhl. A guy in our company went to downtown K Town one night and drank a little too much. He beat up 2 Polizei and got sent to Levenworth. I was only 18 – great memories!

  4. I was stationed at the 508th CC&S Company (Classification, Cannabalization and Salvage Company – an Army junkyard) at Pulaski Barracks from 1967 to 1969. Our shop area was across the Autobahn and we worked with German Nationals. These two years were some of the best of my life and I’m still friends with a few of my Army buddies across the US. Vogelweh, K-Town, Heidelberg (in the summer), Mannheim and a lot of Europe provided me with great memories and photos. It’s very hard to find any mention of the 508th CC&S Company on the Internet. It’s like it vaporized after the Vietnam era years. I remember the NCO Clubs in Vogelweh and Ramstein as well as the Apple Club in downtown Kaiserslautern and two of my favorites in Heidelberg: the Drugstore (which is still there) and Storybook Land which was in an underground air raid shelter from WWII. We called the hill from Vogelweh up to Pulaski Barracks “Hawk Hill” because of the constant wind in the winter. You could actually lean into it without falling over! I wish we could post photos here because the billets are still there and I would love to see what they look like now.

  5. I grew up in Kaiserslautern from 1966- 1985 when I married and moved to the states. My father retired from the army in the 1970′s and my parents still live there. A day hardly goes by without thinking of K town. We new a lot of people from Panzer,Kleber, Vogelweh, Ramstein etc. I used to go to the Capri Club, the Wagon Wheel, the Kazabra club at Vogelweh , and the High life club in K town. Would love to hear from folks that were there from oh say 1979-1985.. scor0156@yahoo.com

  6. Was at Pulaski Barracks from January 1965 to April 1965 and then got transferred to Zweibrucken. Was with the 533rd MP Company and helped the company move across town from Kleber Kaserne…….apparently to have our troops closer to the MP station in Vogelweh. Am looking for any pictures of Pulaski Barracks buildings.
