    • Wow!!! I was there at Montieth, ,HHC 2nd 37th 4th Armor , from Oct 68 to Aug 70. I was in the medics section , couple doors down from the orderly room, but always worked in the motor pool keeping up all the medical equipment jeeps, 113 & 114 , medical jeeps, 3/4 ton trucks and duece in a half truck. I know Angelo Tabuso in fact we still do Christmas cards. When I left in 70 , I had 14 addresses but over the years lost track of them all except Angelo and “Zero” (Hoisington) , He was in maintenace on the VTRs. Yeah 45 years is a long time to try and remember everyone. Its great to see there are still some of us from that time still around. I do remember Sgt Hansen E-8 , My Sgt Carter, Sgt Martinez, Ron Brisbon , Perry , Gary Kuntz, Butch Brown, Dwayne Bohn to name a few . oh!!!yeah!!! ate a lot of Pizzas at Marias some times called Shakeys outside the gate there too. Those were the good old days man sure do miss em too. Drop me a line sometime if you want ,,, SMITTY

In ranks he ask if you wanted that button? Either way he would pull it off of your shirt. So he ask one fine “SOLDATEN’ IF HE WANTED THAT (unbuttoned)-BUTTONED==SO Boley jerked it off of his shirt. The fine soldaten replied “that will be 15 cent sir” Boley nearly lost it. People laughed for days about that. Hi Rick.

  18. Another year has passed! Where did they all go so quickly? I left Fuerth and Monteith Barracks 59 years ago after four years there with the 16th Infantry Regiment. The memories are still clear and full of pleasure. It was a wonderful learning opportunity and a great environment in which a young kid like me could gain his self confidence and finish growing up. Everyone should be so fortunate! I wish a healthy, happy new year to all who are still there and all who have been there!

    • Thanks for the New year comments Joe .I was there at the same ’52-’53 but over at Darby.Enjoyed it in spite of mid-nite curfew,no civies off post , class A only [that meant Ike jackets]. Its sad to read on here that some only remember the beer and the drugs. Again regards for the coming year.
