My husband, Albert E. Banks, was stationed in Munich at McGraw Kasern from the fall of 1958 – January 1960. We lived at Army housing in an apartment on St. Quirinstrasse. Since I am writing our memoirs, I’d like to know more about McGraw, our apartment complex, the downtown commissary and PX. I remember coming into the cafeteria one day and the waitresses were so excited that Elvis Presley and his friends had just been there for lunch. I remember the theater, 2nd Field Hospital (our second son as born there …), and some of Perlacher Forst, and teaching Sunday School at VBS. I would love to have as much information of that period you may remember. Thanks!
I was with the 4th Signal at McGraw from 1966-1968.
