  1. Yup! Good ol’ Animal Farm. Co C 2/509th and Co C 2/87th Oct 72-Feb 75. Saw it all, did it all. They were remodeling in those years so, actually stayed in 3 of the buildings while there. Wonderful memories, but thought I’d never get out of there. Worked in Orderly Room as legal clerk, eventually transferred to headquarters as battalion legal clerk. I was so young then. take care all.   2. WAS IN LEE BARRACKS 1974-76. HHC 2/28 INF BATTALION MAIL CLERCK. WOULD LIKE TO CONTACT MEMBERS OF THE NATURAL STATUS OR THE DIFERENT SHADES OF SOUL. I WAS PART OF THEM.

  5. Is this base still open?

    • Lee Barracks was closed in 1992. It’s now part of Mainz-Gonsenheim (housing area and student housing).

    • Im still living here! Student housing is gone. the 2-69 Motorpool/ Maint. Support Area is a housing area for the rich now. The Back gate, Gym, Washing area (APC´s),2-87 Motorpool, is all kidergartens,and Apartments. The Front gate is still complete, the 2-87 Rooms A co- The FIST and MPs are used today by the German Telecom. Contact me: fb James M. Carter i can make som pic´s if nes.
