I was stationed in Kitzingen from 6/75 to 6/78: I was with 1/15th Infantry Harvey barracks until about March of 1976 then went to the NCO Academy at Larson Barracks as Assistant Operations SGT then Operations Sgt. Lived in Biebelried and Marshal Heights, daugter born in Wurzburg. Great food and great people.
Was BC, B Btry 3/76th FA at Larson Barracks 1965-66. You might check out the 3rd Bn 76th Field Artillery Facebook page. Lots of pics of Kitzingen and Larson Barracks.
I got to Germany in January 1963. I was in the 41st field artillery in Bamberg. Six or eight months later we transitioned into the 3rd Bn. 76th Artillery under the ROAD reorganization. We then moved to Larson Barracks. I spent about two years there. I went up and down that hill many times. We were in the first barracks to the right when you came into the gate. We also had a “gate’ in the rear of the kaserne. You could tell the taxi drivers to take you to the hole in the fence and they knew right where to go. I had a great time there.
Was at Larson 1965-67 .3rd Battalion 21St Field Artillery. Battery C Our barracks adjoined the engineers barracks. I was on the 2nd floor. Do You remember seeing bthe rocket on display in front of our barracks. it was close to our mess hall. Helped build the foundation for the rocket. We may have seen each other at the nco club or in the px. I remember when I had gate guard d uty I told any guy who forgot his pass just to walk back onto the post then walk by fast and show his meal card or any card. Never got in trouble
I remember going thru the gate many times, and never had a problem with the guards. They were always respectable, I can only think how bad it was putting up with a bunch of drunk 18 year old G.I.’s
Hi, I am looking for a old Friend who was stationed at Larson Barracks during 1994 – at least 1998… His Name is James Evans… Originally from Georgia, I dont remember what Unit he was in, but, he was a Cook…. Maybe someone can help me
I was stationed at Flak Kasarne, in 1961 and 1962, ( And was there when it became Larsen Barracks in 1962. ) located in Kitzingen, Germany. I was an artillery surveyor (MOS 153) for surveying coordinate points to fire Honest John Rockets, for the 1st Missile Batallion, 41st Arty. While there, the Berlin Wall was built, and the Cuban crisis also occurred. A nervous time in history. I had Thanksgiving dinner on 22 November, 1962, and then left for Frankfurt airport to fly home, to be discharged from the Army, as a SP4. I returned to Germany in the 1980′s as a civilian worker, to do some joint U.S. (JHU/APL for NASA) German space science instrumentation work on project Galileo. I was in Germany when the Berlin wall was torn down…
I was stationed on Larson barracks from 12/11/68 at HHB 3rd DIVARTY IN THE METRO SECTION , WOULD APPRECIATE ANYONE THERE AT THAT TIME HELPING ME FIND OTHERS THAT SERVED THERE AT THE SAME TIME
Hello My Name is Patricia, I search a soldier, his Name is Mike Roulke or so. He was in Augsburg in the Sheridan and comes to Kitzingen 1983. He is a very good friend of my family. When he goes back to America, we lost his adress. Who can help me please
Patricia, It would help greatly if you were sure of Mike’s family name! Also, do you know exactly what units he was assigned to, or do you know what his job was in the army at that time? And, do you know what state in America that he claimed to be his heimat??? These facts would be very beneficial in locating him. Perhaps we could run his data thru some sites; however, please try to share the information that I’ve mentioned above first.
Hello Paul, thank you for your help. I´m sure his name is Mike (Michael) Roulke. The unit was 3/63 Armor. His heimat state in America, we have forgotten, it´s a long time ago. I can send you a photo with his uniform, maybe can help you. This is all I know about him.
I Was there in Kitzingen Germany US Army in Larson Barracks 1977′. Top Floor. Reforger also, Infantry. any one here know me?. Ed Kadar, AKA Duke. look me up on Facebook as well please, would love to hear from some old Friends.
Hey all you guys from 6/41, I was just sent this website by a friend of mine in Germany, I was in Charlie Battery 1988-1991 to include SWA. I recognize your names, would like to hear from any of you who served in 6/41 FA. vdivieste@hotmail.com
I was stationed at Larsen from Dec. 1965 to July 1967. Unit was 3rd bn 21 Field Artillery. Battery C . It was an Honest John Rocket Battery. Trying to find former buddies.
This is so good to find this! I was also stationed there in 1965 and 66 in the 10th engineer batallion 3rd infantry division and I was in headquarters company ADM p latoon. No now that I think about it, it was 1966 and I got out in Feb 1967. I had the most fun in that unit there, my final year in Germany. I was in the Frankfurt area with the 317th Engineers in 1965. I have a scrabook full of photos, and other memorabilia from those days….what…..some 46 years ago.
Was in E-CO! Remember alot of good times and bad times just like it was yesterday . We were probably on some of the same exercises togather. Built all the bridges. What really sucked was all the K.P.-C.Q.-Guard Duty, Low Pay, Griped about everything but all in all the training with the 3rd Infantry saved my life in Viet Nam 1967. Would not trade that time in my life for anything.
mY barracks were conected to the engineer company. think is was a 3rd division unit. if anyone can remember in i believe in 1967 the 3/21 honest john battalion built a support in front of our barracks with a rocket placed on it. i was one of the guys who helped build it
Hello.. i search for People who may know my Opa , sadly he died on a car accident on March 1965 but maybe you know him and can give me some informations or share some memorys with me , that would be great !! His Name was Donald Evans. Thank you and sorry for my English .. i´m still learning !

I was stationed at Larson Barracks from 1984-87. First I was with 2/39 FA, Section Chief 5th Section. Then I was an instructor at the NCO Academy. I really enjoyed my time there.
I was with 3ID HHC DISCOM from 85-87. We probable either saw each other or met. I remember our offices were in the back of the post. I made that walk thru post every day. I think I had a friend in that unit his name is Bruce.
To all the guys who were at Flak Kaserne, renamed Larson Barracks…
I’m trying to help one of my friends locate some of his old friends. He doesn’t have a computer.
His name is Luersson, his sergeant’s name was Williamson. He said he was in the 82nd Artillery Regiment (probably 1st Missile Battalion?) in Kitzingen in 1961-63.
Does anyone remember them, or have any information regarding reunions, or associations, or web-links for the 82nd?
I was 4th Armored-Pinder-mid 60′s.
Thanks.
I was with the 1st Missile Batallion 41st Arty, between May, 1961 and November, 1962, stationed on Flak Kasarne, which changed to Larsen Barracks while there. I was housed in the Headquarters barracks, located near the entrance gate, to the left as you enter. I don’t remember the names you mentioned, but probably crossed paths with them…
Larson Barracks was on the hill in Kitzingen. Flak Kaserne was across the Main River, on the flatland, where the airstrip was, on the other side of Kitzingen.
was assigned to co b 703rd maintenance 1980-1983. remember the old place and the good times. recently pics from google my earth and had a birds eye view of the post as well as ground level. Its hard to believe that fritz is just letting all this go to waste. also saw pics of harvey barricks and feel bad about the way things are, especialy all the large trees along the road to the old audio club and housing office.
I was in the 703rd B Co. back 1983-1985. I worked in the motorpool fixing generators.
I know what you mean about Hans letting those buildings go to waste. Some of the buildings on Larson were virtually brand new. Now the gate is locked up tighter than a drum.
Please disregard my comment about Larson and Flak Kasernes. The low-lying kaserne was “Harvey”. I do remember Flak Kaserne in Augsburg though. idn’t know that Larson had previously been named Flak also. Guess there were a number of “Flak” kasernes. I spent three tours in Germany. Stationed in Augsburg(74-77), Kitzingen and Giessen/Frankfurt(84/87). Was the Senior Legal NCO of 3rd Infantry Division Artillery, on Larson Barracks, between 1978 and 1981. Interestingly, the PSNCO for 3rd ID Arty at that time was a “Leland J. Larson”, an ex-Special Forces guy. The 3rd ID Arty commanders I served were Colonel Russell Parsons and then Colonel Bruce Holmburg – or something like that.
I was a Medic 91/a there in 87/88, at HHB 2nd and 39th FA. It was fun and the town was cute. It would be nice to find anyone who was there. They guys use to call me “smiley” for some reason.;)
I was stationed with the 10th Combat Engineers Charley Co. … wanted to know, if, the Larson Barracks in Kitzingen was still around after all these years.
Thankful, to have been their & safetly back in U.S.A. GOD BLESSED .

Steve,
Thats not accurate. i was stationed on Larson Barracks from 1998-2000. The barracks in Kitzingin didn’t close down until a few years ago.
