  2. I was with D company 16th Engr CBT rehabbing the old barracks in 1973 and was one of the loader operators and dozer operators digging the tank wash rack pit. I have a pic of the 37th mounted up in Oct 73 going out on an EDP run. They pulled us off the project and sent us out to pick up our demo trailers on our way out to our EDP points that day. I seem to remember everyone on alert because of the Israeli-Egyptian war heating up….

    • I was in A company in 73 remember the rehab on barracks a tank driver in 1st &37th armor would like to see the picture tour talking about.

  11. Hi, i was station in katterbach with the 1/37 th..from 1975 to 1978. Anyone else out there from that time period and station with me? Sure would like to hear from you…thanks

      I remember you. You were in Charlie Company with me. I got there in April 1977. I hosted a Charlie Company 1/37 AR reunion at my place in August of 09.

  12. My first duty station was in Ansbach, but im not sure which Barracks it was. I know it was up a slight grade past the shopping mall on the right. I got there in July of 71 and we moved to Herzo Base in 72 had some great times at both places

    I remember the Goose, The Hawks Nest and Stinkey’s.

    • The Goose got closed about 10 years ago. The Hawks nest is now called Mama Maddie’s Diner – the serve excellent american food and monster Schnitzels there. I live right around the corner from Maddie’s. Stinkey died long time ago. His wife and daughters are running the place.

    • Jorgo, the owner of the clock died by a car accident in 1993, short after the closed down the place – all very sad!

    • I remember most of the bars referenced her, Liberty Bell, Kitty bar, but I don’t remember the Clock. Is the the one they started below the Flair club?

    • HSC 603ASB 1991-1995 I met my ex-wife at the Clock bar! Good times there!

    • Hey ole buddy, been a long time. Do you remember Hemphill? He died about 10 yrs ago from cancer. Do you still do the photography thing? I’ve still got the big photo you took of me playing foosball and pool. Any old army photos you got send them to my email. Living in Arkansas. Would like to hear from you.

    • Wow. Green Goose and Around the Cloc sorta rings a bell. I remember a lot of good times at Katterback and Bismar.

    • Katterbach 1979-1984 1/37 armor Headquarters Company Battalion Maintenance M88 Operator… Cant comment on the green Goose but Around the Clock and The Kittybar and Liberty Bell My home away from home… Would love to get in contact with Jeff Treat Steve Chandler, Jeraldo Eleladora Archeletta Jr and all the others.. Best time of my life
