was at BK 517 th medical clearing co. June 1966 to Dec 1967 as motor pool clerk.
our barracks south of hospital and N. East of american hi. school. buddies were Steven Foster , Ted and Lois Duncan and others .sorry but was not there with the rest of you .
The hospital Commander when I was born there was John Wall(ared?)–or Wall(aced?)—can’t read his signature so well.
I was delivered by Dr (?????) H Dickerson–signed as attending physician but I cannot make out his first name???
Again this was 1958.
ANYONE that can even point me in a direction to get my medical records–PLEASE do??? W8tn41@Yahoo.com
Please help me? My dad was in the Army in 1958 there and had taken my mom and older sister and brother to Germany also.
His name was John Lewis but often was called Pete and he drank like a fish so his rank kept being knocked down. He was also a womanizer.
My mom was a crazy Cajun and was skinny as a rail (malnourished).
They brought a German woman named Ingrid back to the USA with them.
So when I was born there in the 14th Army Hospital (have Birth Cert) I had deformed feet and minor Spina Bifida.
Both of these conditions were surgically corrected but am now having problems and I need access to any of my birth medical records.
My email is W8tn41@Yahoo.com–any suggestions as to how I can get these records would be appreciated. Please help?
Not sure but i think it was 56th general. When I was station there it was 14th field Hospitial. I wonder if you knew a woman by the name of Ingrid Seus. She worked in the Dental Clinic when i was stationed there.
8th Med Bn was there. The hospital was closed mostly, there was a health clinic and a dental clinic. For US Hospital it was North to AF i Wiesbaden or Army in Fkt or south to Landstuhl.
My Father was stationed to this hospital in 1955. I started the 1st grade here in BK. I remember that it was a rough time for me. Being an Army brat you had to be tough, in 2 years I broke my arm, knocked out my right eye, had to have my stomach pumped once! I did not lose all the fights but I did not win them all either. Lucky for me the specialist in Frankfurt was able to save my eye. Otherwise I loved living in Germany.
Lived in Toul France 1958-61, loved it? Not so much
I was stationed at the 56th General for a few months in late 1973 to early 1974 before transfering to the 2nd General in Landstuhl. I was stationed at the 8th Med 1979 to 1982 where I basically worked in BN HQ. I have not been to Germany since then, but I still miss it to this day.
1968 we were Field Hospital, then became 56th General
Colonel Lindahl commanding
Great medics
Was Chief of Medicine 1968- 1971
Lived on Beethoven Strasse then moved to French Quarters next to Officers club
Loved this place 4 DM = $1
Bad Kreuznach was my first duty station (87-89). I was stationed with the 232nd Signal Company at the Hospital Kaserne, but work over at Rose Barracks. I was just a PFC at the time with no car and no money, but it was my best tour by far over 20 years. I loved walking the mountain trails around Bad Kreuznach and Bad Munster. I live in England now and have at the opportunity over the years to go back to Bad Kreuznach when I was over in Germany. Sad to see what happend to it over the years. I was gutted when I went back a few years ago and the hospital kaserne was just a hole in the ground.
I went back in 92 to visit my son in Nurnburg and went up there to see it, it was still there but not a hospital anymore, just offices, I did go in and look at my old room, just an office now.
I was in BK at the 56th Gen. A group of us opened the DETOX ward there I was there from 73 til 75. All of us were from various units. I was from CO A 1/509 before they moved to Italy. Had some great times.
Nice to see your comment. I was the NCOIC of the ER and was elected to set up , staff and supply the original DETOX ward in the BK Hospital, but I forget the year. I continued on as the wardmaster of the combined ward on this floor until I departed Germany.
I remember you from the time I worked as a medic (with Scott Travis) in the Detox ward. My time there was enjoyable, and I was able to travel quite a bit during our extra time off. I loved living in Germany so much that I moved back there as a civilian and taught at a German Gymnasium in Duisburg. After 35 years of teaching (most of it in the States), I am now retired. Best wishes to you. Albert Teunissen
CDAAC – I have been trying to contact several people that I served with at Rose Barracks with the Community Drug & Alcohol Assistance Center (CDACC) between 1977 & 1978. Of particular note; Bob Middleton, Julie Fowler, and Darla Deal. Any help would be appreciated.
I was stationed at 14th Field Hospital in Bad Kreuznach from 1963 to 1967. I worked in the personnel office. We had two German Nationals Lydia Barth and Ingrid Stoeck. Bill Anderson, Terrance Van Ee, and many others. When I was there, Col Perlmutter was the CO. I really had a ball in that German Town. Bad Muenster was nice too.
A good looking Puerto Rican guy worked in personnel and was always dressed in his classA uniform. He always saluted everyone. Do you know who I’m talking about.
Was stationed at the hospital from 73-75. Was in 576th dental co. Worked for Col Norland (Commander) in the HQ. Ingrid worked down stairs from us. She was a beautiful girl, black hair, built. She was also a sweetheart. Our office faced the Highschool.
I visited BK in the late 80s and everything was gone.
Dale Tyre Posted: I was stationed at the hospital in BK during 74 & 75 – also in the 576th Medical Detachment (dental) and I remember you.
I looked at the map of BK on Google Earth about a year ago and discovered the old hospital had been bulldozed. I had always wanted to go back and take my family with me – but with the old hospital building gone – what’s the use? I came across this blog while looking for our patches / insignia. If you remember them or know where I can find them on the internet – please let me know.
I was stationed at the dental clinic for nine months. Prior to that I was in Dexheim.
I am looking for Ingrid Seus. She worked in the dental clinic for many years and from what I’m hearing she lives in southern Germany now. I’m trying desperately to locate her. From what I understand Ingrid married a German-American and I do not have her married name. Could you or anyone help me out

My dad was a medic at the hospital from 78-82. Sgt. Larry Gaither. Anyone remember him?
Hello,
What was the unit name for the hospital during 1982 to about 1986? I was stationed there and do not remember the name of the hospital.

I was there from 54 to 57 and probably knew your dad. What was his name and what department was he assigned to?
