    arrivede Dec 1952..my platoons job was to destroy villages in the area that had been vacated..went out first day and looked at the well constucted homes with beautiful tile roofs..started taking the tile off and stacking it ..when got back to camp that night was ask how many villages had we leveled….’0′ caught hell next day we went to village center of village largest house..winch on gable pulled house down set it afire…temp was well below freezing…we stayed warm as we rushed the clearing of the area…had some trouble with another engr Bn and was told to vacate in 24 hours but in very harsh words…went to Baumholder…another story
