I was stationed at B Co 63rd Signal Bn. Small community, the only thing that operated was the NCO club — Bowling Alley was fun when it was open. I think there were other units there but I can’t remember what they were.
Hey Mike – you remember alot. There was a library, chapel, snack bar, commissary, shopette, post office, medical and dental clinic. Fancy seeing you on here. Take care Valerie
I was assigned as a DAC to the Director of Data Systems from 1971-1974 under the command of Col E Rudd. Enjoyed it very much and the people of Germersheim were like family. CEA’s during that period were Pete _______ and Don Paul. Some of the fondest memories of my career took place at GAD.
I was assigned to the 3rd Maint Bn from Nov 62 until reenlistment in July 64. Regardless of who you were assigned to, this was a very close knit installation. We had several enlisted members who play on the local socer teams. Every one was quite competitive. I can remember when we had nothing but chicken for two meals a day for three months this was due to shippping strikes. But we made out alright. The people in the town of Germersheim were very friendly to the small population on the Depot. At the time I was an E-3 PFC.
Patrolled the Depot with the 66th MP back in Mar84-Nov84. Out in middle of nowhere..Found the best Gausthause I ever ate in but never found it again..Remember the fields of grapes all around there…If you know me chat back
is germersheim still open. are soldiers still stationed there

I was stationed at 137th Ordnance Company (Ammo) from July 88 – July 90. Our barracks were accross the street and to the left of 63rd’s barracks.

We were stationed there until from 1972 to 1976. It was a very special place and everyone was a very close group.
