I worked at the 97th from ’71 thru ’72 on GYN and Ortho, met my husband, Earl Albright at the 97th O club and will be celebrating our 40th anniversary this Sept. Our daughter, Jennifer was born at the 97th 6 weeks before we PCS’d back to the States. Any other nurses out there who were there at the same time?
I lived in the BOQ right outside the hospital gates.

My daughter is now married to a Soldier and did her time in Germany and my son is a Marine now back at San Diego
The 97th General Hospital was located on Gießener Straße. It was closed in the 1990s and became the US consulate. This is a link to the 3ad website and shows a US Army Frankfurt map: http://www.3ad.com/pio/bulletin.bd/frankfurt.landcarte.htm
In 1954 the 97th was definitely located where Holzhausenstrasse merges to Eschersheimer Landstrasse, 1 block from away from trh Liquor Store (Fuerstenberger St. and Frankfurt Elementary School # 1), and 1 block from Craig Abrams Complex. The PX was 2 blocks away. The whole area within limits of Adickes Allee, Oederweg, Wolfsgangst., and Eschersheimer Landst. was then a housing area for Service Members and their dependants. I had my first flat top at the barber shop annexed to the PX in 1954. Also went every now and then to the Idle Hour. Hopfully this helps you.
Name of the kaserne: Clarke Kaserne, located on Gießener Straße. You’ll find all kind of information and photos and the history of 97th General Hospital here: http://www.usarmygermany.com/
I was billeted with some of the nurses from 97th when I first arrived at Frankfurt in 1974. There were no barracks at Drake/Edwards for me. They were unprepared to receive women. I roomed with a nurse I never met. She worked nights and I worked days. We wrote notes to eachother to communicate. The Colonel’s driver came and picked me up every day until they finally cleared a floor in the barracks for women. After I arrived at 143d, other women started coming in. I was the first and it was really an experience for me and the men of HHC. A lot of them became like big brothers and I still miss some of them now almost 40 years later.
I WAS IN GERMANY IN 1978 TO 1981 AT 2/59 ADA C BATTERY. ROOM 216 MY PLATOON SARGEANT, SSGT.JAKSON, SLDR. SSGT. OLSOM AND MY PARTNERT. PFC BOWEN SP4 VELAZQUEZ FROM PUERTO RICO AND ME TOO.

I worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Frankfurt at the Abrams Complex from 1981-1983. I am trying to locate and obtain a copy of my medical records from 97th General Hospital. Can anyone help me identify where the records were sent after the 97th closed?
Yes, they are all kept at the National Archives in Washington DC, if you were military Army, they are kept in St Louis, MO at the US ARMY MIl PERCEN, 900 Page Boulevard St Louis. Go on the internet and look up finding your Army Medical Records, it will give you the address, or if you were a dependent you can write to the Us Army Medical Command Europe, or over here. Or try looking up on internet just the question you would be asking a person. This usually brings something up, sometimes everything you don’t want, but it is a start. Good luck

The doctors in Frankfurt Hospital and Landstuhl Hospital saved my Life in 1990. I will forever be grateful to them and the medical staff.
