   I was stationed at Downs Barracks from Jul 60 until Oct 63. I was in the Ist Squadron Headquarters tank section. My oldest son was born when we were on alert because of the Berlin Wall going up. We have many wonderful memories of Fulda and some not so good. Another bit of trivia I was stationed in Illesheim when the wall came down. I had four tours in Germany. One as a tanker and the rest as a helicopter pilot. I flew OH, UH and AH helicopters the last being the AH64.

   I was stationed at Fulda 1972-1974 A&C Troop. Still have some pictures of me at OP Alpha. I was also a guard at the NATO 26 site. I found the 26 site on Google Earth. One of the bunkers has been removed for some reason and the fence is still up. Would like to hear from some old friends.

   I was stationed on Downs Barracks from 79-81. Fulda was a great city.

   Hi Earl,

   Our family was stationed at Downs Barracks from 1966-68. My dad was a helicoper pilot, and we lived in what they called the Glass Palace very near the main gate. Our whole family has great memories of that time.

   I was stationed in Fulda from 1963 to 1966 I worked as a 5 ton driver in the motor pool. You may remember me from the old 300 Mercedes that I drove. I spent a lot of time in Graff it was great duty for a truck driver. I was in Sgt.Nelson’s Platoon. Would love to hear from anyone stationed there.
