  1. I was a member of the Scout Platoon, Combat Support Co,1st BN, 48th ,Inf. From 1971 to 1974. I would like to get in contact with anyone from my old platoon or company.

  2. I was in G-town C co 1/48. 78-81Great times Just one of the “Mug” brothers(hensmug) Morter Gunner for a while duce driver for a while and jeep driver. I also was the R&U man for 2 years Great times indeed. Spent the last year living in Roth.

  3. I was stationed in Gelhausen from 1974-1976 with C Btry 2/6 FA. We left Coleman Kaserne and moved the entire BN to Hutier Kaserne, Hanau in late 1976 or early 1977. I hated being in Germany because we were always in the field or on some kind of duty. Now, I look back on those days fondly and will visit again some day. My wife and son joined me there in 1975 and we had a daughter born 1976 in Frankfurt. I stayed in the Army and retired in 1991.

  4. Did you know KIETH GOODWIN? 1959-1961. Also did you know a woman named REGINA who worked on base. She was from LUTZELNHAUSEN.

  5. Assigned to Company E, 122nd Maintenance from April 1976 thru May 1979 as the Engineer Section Chief. Have many great memories of my time there (some crappy ones too, but we divorced in June ’79!) Would love to hear from any of E-122 peers.

    • Hey Egg,
I worked with you in the engineering section rebuilding the generators! Remember running the lead in the Gamma-goat and getting chewed out for going way too fast in convoy. I think it took the CO about ten miles to catch us!!! You were a excellent Chief, getting away with rebuilding the generators even though we weren’t suppose too. It sure saved alot of turnaround time.
      Hope you remember me”Minnesota Maniac”

    • Hey Bill, I was in HHC 2 Bn., 3rd. Armored Div., Commo Platoon….was there 77-80…..lived in the old barracks first floor and hung out in town in a Pub who’s two main reason everyone went there were two sisters, Nancy and Pia and and friend Sabrina….

  13. I was stationed there from 89-91. I served with both HHC 1/48 in S1 then D Co 4/18 (1/48 turned into 4/18) I ETS’d after we got back from Saudi/Iraq. Yep…. remember the Blue Knight…. got to moonlight there 2-3 nights a week as a DJ (or what they referred to as a DJ) LOL I also vividly remember the restaurant just down the street called “Bambi’s” for their Jaegerschnitzel, pom frits, salat und ein gross Weisen! LOL Also loved going to a couple other places to each such as Henchen Peter’s and my all time favorite eatery… Papa Pasquali’s for his to die for Cordon Blue with Cognac Curry gravy! I also loved going to the indoor and outdoor pools, shopping at Joh’s and oh yeah…. near Joh’s was a little cafe’ that had great coffee and the best dessert…. a blueberry cream ice cream. However, I do NOT miss our morning PT runs up that friggin’ hill behind the base! LOL I really did not fully appreciate my time or experiences there back then….. one day when I go back to Germany to visit my family, I will have to take a trip to visit Gelnhausen once again.

Last barracks up the hill and the top floor. Remember John Mack from N.J. who took me under his wing at the beginning. Will always remember Ursula Bingdernagle who lived near the back entrance. Fond memories of the Japan Stube cafe and the owner Carlotta. I left alot of .45 records in the Juke box while stationed there.
