I was stationed at USMCA Darmstadt (right next to the MP Station) from 1975 to 1977/78. Company Clerk. Lived off base in Leeheim. Loved my time there and am saddened to hear CFK is no longer. I am visiting Germany this November and hope to visit the old place if I can.

From Early 1985 through Mid 1987 I was stationed on CFK and assigned to HHC 11th SIG BN & A Co 11th SIG Bn. For the better part of my stint there I was a Team Leader on TAA (11th SIG BN’s Fixed Site). Like so many that have commented on life at CFK, mine was a very positive one. Between my 12 hour day shift.. to 12 hour night shift to 3 days off, plus school class schedule, plus traveling around all that Germany & the other European countries would show me…there was never a time for a “new 20-something’s” kid to complain about!
Recently I start researching what came of 11th SIG Bn, as well as the 32 AADCOM and found that both had been decommissioned and/or reassigned to other duties. For those that had the chance to serve on CFK during the ’80s hopefully they took away as many great memories as I did. If you were there and assigned to 11th SIG Bn HHC or A Co, I’d like to hear from you. My e-ml is 3TimesAnderson@GMail.com and I’m also on Facebook & LinkedIn.
