Roy, Thanks for the answer; nice to touch base with someone from long ago at Ayers. You must recall John Tunstall, buck sgt, from your outfit. Emailed him quiet a bit; he and his wife living in western New York and I can give you his email if you email me at: bglamascus@aol.com. Check the photo of Phil with a cast on his foot outside by the company sign; Cold War Cas., 1963, 3AD Spearhead site. Didn’t know Co. B had moved over but I guess bn’s losing the UAC Sections to Division made a bunch of us move around. Lost my living alone at your place by having to move back to 3rd Arty proper but the 18 months were great and I didn’t have it bad going back to the section room. Still S-4 Clerk, prima donna, POV, which was a toughy back then, and ED so what the hell! All that time since then gone but until I retired I didn’t give it much thought but we were footloose and fancy free as we’d ever be for the rest of our lives! Email. Speedy4 Bob Lamascus, S-4, 2/3FA, 62-64.
Roy, If you email me I’ll mail back a couple of photos: One of Murray and one of Tunstall and a couple of guys next to a tank; man, they look cold. Seems that hawk over there went to the bone and through it to the other side, darn cold at times! Murray used to ghost in my office and stay out of First Shirt’s way. Recall he was an artist. Don’t recall where Phil was from now; very pleasant fellow. BobL.

I was in A 2/3 FA 70-72. The battalions in the brigade rotated brigade duty each month (each bn 2 times per year). That meant the designated bn pulled brigade guard and was responsible for the two ammo storage sites (Koppern and Limbach). Neither was nuke. They were down around Friedburg.I used to have to go down there and check the status of the demo equipment.

If so, you were there same time I was and do you recall when 3rd Arty came up from the Schloss in Oct of ’61 and we had our S-4 Office and TA/21 Rm down the hall next to the back door? Lived in that room until Oct of ’63 when we got all the bn back under on roof.
