Howdy All, Just found this site, and really looking forward to reconnecting with anyone that was in Herbornseelback at the same time. We really had a wonderful location, small Kaserne about 110 Soldiers, great atmosphere. The Germans were wonderful to all of us, sure miss all that Great German Beer and Wonderful Food. We are putting together a Reunion this year, so if anyone sees this please get in touch with me. I have to say, not hardly a day has gone by that I’ve not thought fondly of my time in Germany, and it started the Travel Bug in me that has never stopped My Best to You All, Kindest Regards, Craig
Hello, i can still remember the americain soldiers in Herbornseelbach . I was born in 1967 and i was a little girl in the 70 ies . My father Gerhard Ebing and my mother Bârbel were the owners of a”Gaststâtte Ebing” . Perhaps you’ve had a drink in this pub? It was situated at “Hohe strasse 88″ , and we had a minigolf on the other side of the road.
Since then i can remember a name of an americain soldier who came often drinking a beer : they called him LARRY and he was a good friend to my parents.
My parents had to give up their Gaststätte due to the economic crise in 1974.
Perhaps anybody remembers my parents?
Kind regards , Katrin
I am afraid I do not remember your Folks place, but so many things
are kind of fuzzy after 35 years, I do remember that we’d go to Decker’s in Herbornseelbach, and the Altes Rad in Herborn a lot.
We recently had a great reunion of a lot of the guys that were in Herbornseelbach back in 1973-1977.
From what I understand there are several of the Guys still living in and around Herborn.
Hopefully, one day soon we’ll have a Reunion back in Seelbach, can’t even begin to tell you what a wonderful time and memories I have of the People and the Town.
I’ll ask around and show your post to some of the guys that were
there the same time I was. Sorry for your families loss of their Restaruant.
